Health Alert Post! While this is content not solely related to work, it is related to a topic that has provided a substantial increase in my energy level and clarity in the morning, as well as my endurance throughout the day. Through a random set of circ*mstances, I recently learned that I have severe Sleep Apnea. I don’t drink, don’t smoke, eat fairly clean, exercise daily and get at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Due to my ignorance relating to Sleep Apnea, I did not believe there was any way I had it. However, due to having a deeper understanding on the importance of sleep, largely from my listening to the Andrew Huberman podcast, I felt compelled to take a sleep test. After being diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, I pushed back on the CPAP machine as a treatment because I was concerned that I would have a difficult time sleeping with it. I was introduced to a dental specialist that provided me with the oral instrument (covered by health insurance) in this picture. After the first night, I could not believe how much better I slept and how incredibly energized and clear I was in the morning. Furthermore, due to the deeper sleep I was getting, I found the levels of my anxiety that I typically experienced getting substantially mitigated. I feel like a new person, which is wild because I thought I felt good to begin with. On the flip side, if I did not randomly uncover that I had Sleep Apnea, it would have developed into a major problem for me over time. The impact Sleep Apnea can have on your heart can literally take years off of your life. I read a statistic that said roughly 80% of people with Sleep Apnea are undiagnosed. I am a sample size of one as it relates to the experience described in this post so I encourage folks to take a sleep test as suggested by their health care provider. Treating Sleep Apnea effectively can result in a near-term quality of life improvement and potentially extend the long-term of your life.

Excited to play a small role in this collaboration with Loaded client, QuarterJade, and HEAR ME RAW.I met Hear Me Raw founder Mike Indursky several years ago when we were incubating a beauty brand founded by a leader from the film industry. I had a great experience working with Mike and we've stayed connected ever since. I introduced Mike to Jodi (“QuarterJade”) two years ago. Jodi is deeply passionate about the skincare category. Her commitment to learning about skincare at a granular level is remarkable to witness. I look forward to supporting Jodi's continued to growth within skincare. It’s been awesome to reconnect with my friends from the music industry to explore opportunities on how we can support their artists to grow and better understand their communities on Discord via our new Fan Dynamics product and managed services offering. Any success I had in the music industry can be attributed to working with artists that worked hard at fostering dense communities. As a former music manager, I would have loved to have accessed the insights and commercialization opportunities that we can now provide via the Discord platform. On a personal note, my most fulfilling work has been related to venture building across a wide variety of categories. This is my first time being a part of a venture building team that has a tech product. I am grateful for the learning! It’s been a remarkable experience getting to work alongside of Justin Malara, Kyle DeWitt, Ian Klein, Ashkon Honardoost, Irina Shames and Joe Fucigna in the incubation process. Leaders on this team have developed tech products that provided unprecedented insights on Facebook many years back, more recently on Twitch, and now Discord. Having the opportunity for business I am driving to be powered by tech and data at this high level, led by such amazing people, has been such a profound benefit of my work within Loaded and Open World Solutions and Studios.
