Wealth and Personal Banking has four key business areas responsible for efficiently bringing the best of HSBC to our clients through a broad and relevant suite of wealth and retail banking capabilities: Asset Management, Global Private Banking & Wealth, HSBC Life, Retail Banking & Strategy and COO & Digital Transformation.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Asian Wealth Business Performance and Implementation Lead.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Accountable for co-ordinating across the ASP region and related markets to define AOP, key performance metric targets Scorecards and business performance reporting
  • Responsible for driving AOP and performance targets including key performance metrics including revenue, NNIA, wealth penetration, customer acquisition, product diversification
  • Accountable for the design and implementation of key initiatives to help drive performance, sharing best practice across markets
  • Participates in the development/ articulation of ASP and Group Strategic objectives & priorities
  • Ensures adoption and interlock with ASP markets of approach and plan for the execution of the key initiatives to drive overall business performance
  • Responsible for driving, facilitating and reporting on the implementation of specific strategic goals in conjunction with stakeholders
  • Support the development of Retail Wealth Strategy and related execution in Asia Markets with alignment and leverage of the overall Asia Wealth Strategy , along with oversight and monitoring of commercialization and KPIs
  • Responsible for collating and managing effective Wealth Business Performance reporting across respective markets and reporting to senior management in a timely manner
  • Prioritize and drive Asia Wealth Growth Strategy in the Asia region to deliver the revenue growth target, riding on strategic initiatives as described in market strategies, and ensure its alignment with the overall Wealth and AW strategy and proposition
  • Proactively drive regular engagement with Asian wealth markets to drive wealth performance, support local teams in identifying trends and opportunities, share best practice from other markets and connect to relevant Global stakeholders
  • Provide input and facilitate Annual Operating Plan discussions across markets, in line with strategic objectives, and act as a referral point and manage the implementation of new capabilities of Wealth proposition with focus on service standards, wealth customer growth and financial performance
  • Manage the implementation of Business strategies, ensure effective implementation and design of control standards, governance and procedures with the aim of sharing and promoting best practice.
  • The role is pivotal for further maximizing growth of the Asia markets, and required to build networks and relationships with key markets by working closely with the key business stakeholders such as Global Business Finance, Global Analytics, Wealth proposition teams, Wealth solutions team, digital, and other teams to develop appropriate components and parts of the strategy
  • The broad nature of the role demands a high calibre individual capable of dealing simultaneously with a range of issues. Flexibility and adaptability are required as tasks are unpredictable, complex and time sensitive

Requirements

  • Previous experience in wealth management, proposition development, strategy consulting and/or analytics with exposure to strategy development, proposition formation, product development, commercial management across specific traditional and/or digital financial product categories and customer segments
  • Good understanding of HSBC’s wealth eco-system, business and system architecture is preferred
  • Insights on competitive and innovation landscape in Retail Wealth industry globally and Asia specifically
  • Retail banking experience, familiarity with large bank environment
  • Experience of data & analytics and their application in multi-channel CRM programmes
  • Experience with multi-geography team/product/ management of wealth clients or products
  • Experience delivering products and/or proposition features, digital solutions to market and delivering commercial results and customer outcomes in line with plan
  • Knowledge of WPB business drivers, sales and financial planning process, products and solutions, digital enablers would be preferred
  • Well developed, proven project management skills
  • Strategic leadership, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Culturally sensitive and understanding of global and local customer needs
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills, understand product economics and experience in organizational and project managements
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with a high and demanding benchmark

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead and support the integration between stakeholders across the matrix, geographic and business or functional aspects
  • Excellent relationship building and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally as well as lead high impact work streams
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm. And, ability to navigate conflicting strategic priorities and decisions, and influence, engage and lead in a positive, inspiring manner
  • Have the potential for further development personally and professionally. And, meet the requirement of leadership capability level for role including values level
  • Able to work within a multi-jurisdictional and high velocity team with the direct manager in a different market
