Just a short walk from the beach, it was ideal for enjoying all that Lake Tahoe has to offer in both summer and winter. We spent our days swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking in the crystal-clear water, and the beach was close enough for easy afternoon picnics. For the winter enthusiasts in your group, Northstar Ski Resort is a breeze to access. After our tanning session at the beach, we came back to relax in the hot tub on the upper deck.

Like many other cabin rentals, this one is very comfortable and well-equipped. We cooked most of our meals in the spacious kitchen, which had everything we needed, and the breakfast bar was perfect for quick mornings. We slept soundly at night – with a twin bunk bed, three double beds, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, there was plenty of space for our entire group of eight. While there are plenty of Lake Tahoe cabins for rent, Ember should be on the top of your list if you’re looking for a cozy yet adventurous mountain escape. This cabin can easily accommodate a group of up to six. The three bedrooms offered tons of space for us, with a king-sized bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in each of the rest. Meanwhile, the kitchen was fully equipped for all our meals, and we loved having breakfast together at the bar before heading out for hikes.

But Ember Cabin wasn’t just about unwinding indoors. The location was fantastic! We were right next to multiple hiking and biking trails, so we spent our days exploring the mountains. It was also a short drive to ski resorts and lakes, which offered even more options for adventure. Once all was said and done, we’d come back to the cabin, relax in the hot tub, and enjoy some friendly competition on the air hockey and foosball tables in the game room. Also, the outdoor patio with BBQ was the flawless spot for stargazing and enjoying delicious grilled meals.

Right in the heart of Tahoe Donner, Moosetrack was the perfect Lake Tahoe cabins rental for our group getaway. The cabin was spacious and light-filled, with those amazing floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views no matter the season. There was ample room for our group of eight. The comfortable bedrooms meant everyone had their own space to relax, while the spacious living room and large kitchen were great for spending quality time together. We especially loved doing nothing by the fireplace!

But Moosetack Cabin wasn’t just comfy – it was also fun! The hot tub was a huge hit, especially after we were hiking. We also enjoyed firing up the outdoor grill for some delicious BBQ dinners, and the basketball net provided some friendly competition between us. Raining? Don’t worry, as the dining area inside the cabin is just as enjoyable. The location was unbeatable, too. We were just minutes from charming Downtown Truckee with its shops and restaurants, but also surrounded by the beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Kantor’s Hideout

Kantor’s Hideout is one of those places that are designed to accommodate large groups. As soon as we entered the stone foyer, we were enchanted by the grand open floor plan. The great room had high vaulted ceilings, and the wood fireplace added a cozy ambiance. We loved that the kitchen was open to the living area, making it easy to chat with everyone while preparing meals. The breakfast bar provided extra seating, and there was even a separate dining space for more formal gatherings. The first floor also had a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom that opened onto the deck.

Upstairs, we found even more space! Three bedrooms offered us plenty of sleeping arrangements, with a second master featuring a king bed and en-suite bathroom. A real highlight for our group was the open loft area overlooking the great room. It had a pool table, a deluxe card table, and another entertainment center – our go-to spot to hang out and have some fun.

Best Location. The location of Golden Summit couldn’t get any better. Though hidden in the pines, this cabin is still perfectly minutes away from the charming town of Truckee. Aside from that, staying there allowed us to be mere minutes away from world-class skiing at Northstar California Resort and Palisades Tahoe, as well as hiking and mountain biking. Plus, for those who want a change of pace, there’s even the Coyote Moon Golf Course just a short drive away.

Another highlight of this cabin is its free access to Tahoe Donner’s amenities. Having the HOA pools, saunas, tennis courts, and private beach on Donner Lake right at our fingertips was incredible. It gave us so many options for enjoying the outdoors, whether we wanted to take a refreshing dip, challenge each other to a tennis match, or simply relax on the beach. Also, the open floor plan made it easy to spend time together, and the comfortable furnishings made relaxing a breeze. We especially loved the game room with foosball.

Are you still looking for the perfect cabin? Check out Redwood! The cabin offered breathtaking panoramic views of Martis Valley from its two immense patios. Staying here felt like having our little private home, yet Northstar was just a short drive away whenever we craved some resort action. The inside of the cabin was just as impressive. With high wooden beamed ceilings and warm tones, it felt incredibly spacious and comfy. The tasteful decor and stunning furnishings created a truly luxurious atmosphere. We loved how the large sliding doors blurred the lines between indoors and outdoors, allowing us to seamlessly extend our gatherings to the outdoor dining area.

Another huge perk of Redwood Cabin was the hot tub. After exploring the area, soaking in the hot tub under the starry sky was pure bliss. Tamarack is simply amazing. As soon as we pulled up, we knew we were in for a treat. This remodeled A-frame is adorable and super charming. Once inside, we were greeted by tons of natural light and a cozy cabin feel. The vaulted ceilings and open floor plan made the space feel huge, and with four stories, there was plenty of room for us to spread out. We never tripped over each other here.

The master suite on the main level was our favorite room among the four. Staying there, we could directly access the big deck with a grill and dining area, perfect for evening BBQs overlooking the backyard. We were also impressed by the two separate living areas, each with big flat-screen TVs, so we could relax and unwind whenever we wanted to. Pretty cool, right?

Once we arrived, we were greeted by large windows that flooded the space with light and high beam ceilings that created a sense of spaciousness. The thoughtful design made the cabin feel comfortable and inviting. What’s more, this cabin boasts the perfect location for exploring all that Lake Tahoe has to offer. Just outside our doorstep, a short two-block walk led us straight down to the beach. Feeling more energetic? Just hop on the nearby bike trail for a scenic ride.

Moreover, we were particularly excited about the private access (with a small fee) to the HOA’s buoy field. Spending a leisurely afternoon sunbathing on the deck, followed by a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear lake, was definitely a highlight. This sizeable cabin is set in the woods and instantly transported us to a world of comfort with its beautiful beamed wooden ceilings, granite floors, and warm wood finishes throughout. For any skiers or snowboarders out there, this cabin is flawless. Located just a 7-minute drive from Palisade Resort in Olympic Valley, and with Alpine Meadows at Palisade close by, you can hit the slopes with maximum convenience.

Spread over 3,500 sq ft, the cabin offered ample space for our entire group. The open living room with its high ceilings felt incredibly inviting as well. Our stay was filled with cozy nights by the gas fireplace and catching up on shows on the large flat-screen TV. The bedrooms? They were just as impressive.
